In this video and description below, Nick demonstrates Lateral Band Walks – https://www.instagram.com/p/CFubHtZngFX/

Lateral Band Walks strengthens the sides of your hips, especially the gluteus medius.

  • Place a theraband around both knees or ankles.  Knees are easier and ankles are harder.
  • Quarter squat so that your knees are bent and you are in an athletic stance.
  • Step out to the side and sidestep ten to twenty steps then go back the other way.
  • Slow and controlled, don’t let the band shoot your knees or feet together.
  • Keep your feet facing forward and don’t turn your feet out because that will take the focus away from isolating your hips and put it on the quads.
  • Keep an arch in your feet by “screwing your foot” into the ground with knees out.
