Yolanda Bowdre OT has been an OT since 2001 graduating from the University of South Alabama with a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy. I have worked most of my years in LTC and ALF. I have been in management for 7 years. Growing up and spending a lot of time around my grandparents, I was able to see how important it was for them to be in their natural environment and thrive. Our family was limited in knowledge because we did not have the resources available to educate us on the best methods, adaptive equipment, and modifications, so we were winging it. Fortunately, it worked out, because it was important for them to be able to do as much for themselves as possible with confidence. That fueled my passion to work with older adults and to regain their independence and safety so they can return home. Education is a key factor in being safe at home and I am here to provide that so you will not have to “wing it.”
